Well recognized for her work in the manufacturing sector, Hawes is currently the chair of the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC), which since 1988 has focused exclusively on the region’s manufacturing community to grow business value through consulting services, talent development, training and education

Hawes is also vice chair of the US Commerce Department’s NIST Manufacturing Extension Program National Advisory Board.
