As part of the “Emancipating the Colonial Exhibition of Africa in the West” symposium,
four talented artists will provide powerful visual expressions in the new Africa Galleries — Jorge Dos Anjos, Muhsana Ali, Amadou Kane Sy, and Breanna Moore — and will speak about the inspiration and creation of their site-specific artworks.
The event will take place at the Widener Lecture Hall, located at 3260 South Street, on Saturday, November 16, from 1:45pm – 3:15pm.
Advance registration for the symposium includes free admission to the Penn Museum.
The Center for Africana Studies sponsors co-curricular programmatic activities to educate Penn and the community about the cultural and historical achievements of the people of the African diaspora.
