The new initiative comes just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month.

On May 7, 2026, My Brother’s Keeper Cares (MBKCares) hosted its inaugural Healthy Happy Hour event at Philadelphia’s Parkway Central Library.

The wellness-based social mixer, co-hosted by Stephanie Skinner (Miss Philadelphia 2026), featured kombucha mocktails, sparkling cider toasts and vegan hors d’oeuvres prepared by local vendors Jacob Brandmeier and Qòura Jones. Attendees enjoyed rooftop yoga (Mobile Holistic Healing Services), group stress-relief (Dr. Don Strausburger) and other activity stations ranging from apothecary to massage therapy.

Future installments of Healthy Happy Hour are expected to be announced soon.

Product sponsors for this event included Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods with additional grant support from Philadelphia’s Department of Public Health.

My Brother’s Keeper Cares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the Philadelphia region with a focus on suicide prevention. Its mission was inspired by the 2007 passing of Atif Hines, a Philadelphia-born artist who was the younger brother of MBKCares founder Ihsan Hines.
