The new Oak Street Health-Cheltenham Center facility for seniors at 2401 W. Cheltenham Ave, Wynote, PA, opened with a fun-filled block party for residents and the community.

Community vendor tables covered the parking lot, educating attendees and offering information on resources in the area. Seniors left smiling with giveaway items like backpacks, water bottles, and coupons. Kid-family face-painting stations with Giggles the clown and a moon bounce delighted children while their families enjoyed cooking demonstrations, table games and live music. Wendy’s took care of their community partners by providing chicken and beef sandwiches for lunch.

Oak Street Health opened its doors for tours of its brand new facility, allowing interested patrons to get a look around! The bright colors, spacious exam rooms, and community area floored seniors and their families, many of whom scheduled appointments!

Abbie’s Burger’s offered a slew of free refreshment options from their Burger Bus and friend of Oak Street, Chef Larry, handed out samples of a chicken and quinoa dish cooked right on site.

The DJ set the vibe with popular dance tunes, and line dances while Harold Burnett of Oak Street Health took the role of MC. People of all ages flocked to the “dance floor” area in front of the stage, moving and shaking.

Representatives to the 35th Police District Advisory Council surprised Outreach Director Jazmin Jones on stage with an award recognizing her involvement and persistence in bettering the community.

A woman in the crowd felt inspired to share her original poem honoring the police, firefighters and paramedics rousing applause from attendees.

Everyone pulled up a chair to clap when Smitty from the City took the stage. He charmed the audience with classic, powerhouse tunes and smooth dance moves.

Oak Street Health is a Medicare-only primary care doctors office utilizing a team-based approach to healthcare. Offering pristine facilities, a community room with free events, and transportation to appointments compliments the unparalleled customer service. Patients spend more time with their doctor, have access to same and next-day appointments and a 24/7 hotline.
