Youngblood votes against bill that would disenfranchise many voters

State Rep. Rosita C. Youngblood, D-Phila., today voted against a bill that she said harkens to the years before the federal Voting Rights Act. After extensive debate, the House voted 108-88 in favor of a bill that would require voters to show photo identification in order to be able to cast their ballot at the polls.

PHA’s Summer Food Program = Healthy Bodies and Sound Mind

This year’s program, which is located at 19 PHA sites across the city, began its 2011 operations on June 22nd. All eligible children ages 18 and under are able to receive free breakfast and lunch through Friday, August 26th. The program will operate Monday — Friday from 8 AM to 2PM.
