If you’re looking for a job in construction, or you already work in construction but want a promotion, then you need to take the Construction and Skilled Trade Selection System exam (CAST). The CAST exam is used as an employment test by construction and utility companies like PECO.
A free training series is being sponsored by the Beech Companies in partnership with CW Consulting from May 21st through 24st from 10am – 5pm. The training series will provide individualized tutoring and preparation for taking and passing the test.
The four areas tested are: graphic arithmetic, mechanical concepts, reading comprehension and mathematical usage.
Eligible candidates for training must:
- Be at least 18 years-old with a high school diploma or GED
- Have passed math courses up to algebra-level
- Have 9th grade level reading comprehension skills
- Be able to lift up to 85lbs.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
“We want to make sure our people are qualified and ready to participate in construction and utility projects that are on the horizon,” explained Dr. Ken Scott, president/CEO of Beech. “We’re happy to partner with CW Consulting on this test training series and expect great results.”
The series also includes one-on-one job placement support for those who pass the test. Registration is required and space is limited.
