Actress Taraji Henson will be staring in a Lifetime original movie, “Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.”

The plot depicts Rubin’s heroic rescue of her 7-year-old son Kobe who was in illegal custody of her ex-husband in South Korea.

In the summer of 2007, while Kobe was visiting his father in Brooklyn, N.Y., his dad took him away to Korea without notice or mutual agreement with Rubin.

The distraught mother turned to a school teacher in Queens to locate Kobe in a town near Seoul. After launching a careful surveillance operation, the teacher and Rubin were able to snatch Kobe and escaped to the U.S. Embassy before returning home.

“Taken From Me” is produced by Front Street Pictures.
