
The African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE (AACC) has been listed as a top Chamber of Commerce by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Moving up the list ten (10) spaces from the previous year, has validated the AACC as one the fastest growing Chambers in the region.
“With more than 19,000 African-American businesses in the region, and as the only Chamber that focuses on African-American business development, the AACC is in a great position for growth” states Steven Scott Bradley, Chairman of the AACC. “The Board and leadership is excited about the organization’s development and we are looking forward to connecting with, and growing, more African-American businesses.”
The AACC experienced more than a 78 percent increase in membership in the past year, something the Executive Director contributes to a targeted strategy that communicates value and impact.
“Like most marketing strategies, it was key for the AACC to realize we weren’t able to connect with every African-American business owner in the region” states Shalimar Thomas. “Instead, we worked to target our efforts, connect with businesses owners who were serious about development and worked to build partnerships and value, while communicating the positive impact our efforts will have on the entire Philadelphia region.”
The AACC’s value statement to its members have been a driving force behind their exponential growth and includes: 1) providing a voice of ADVOCACY in key legislative issues 2) CONNECTING with more than $300 million dollars in contract opportunities, more than 4,000 customers and networking opportunities with some of the region’s top business leaders and 3) PROGRAMMING and events supporting supplier diversity and supplier development in partnership, and collaboration, with local like-minded institutions.
