Andrea-Rose Oates, the daughter of Dr. Patrick Oates and Mrs. Evelyn Sample- Oates was crowned Miss Pennsylvania – Junior Teen at the National American Miss (NAM) Pageant in Harrisburg, PA on Monday, August 14, 2018.
This was her 5th state pageant competition and first time capturing the crown.

She recently completed an internship at the Comcast Corporation in the talent management department. Andrea-Rose will compete this fall at the national level in November for the title National American Miss – Junior Teen 2018-2019 in Anaheim, CA.
She will compete against 49 other young ladies representing their home state.
Immediately after winning her crown, Andrea-Rose delivered 200 books and read to the children at the Christian Street YMCA in South Philadelphia.
Her platform for the next year will center around equity in education for all girls. “I want to make sure every girl has the necessary resources and opportunities to get a quality education,” said Oates. “Girls can do anything as long as they have the education to back them up, and that’s something that no one can take from them.”
She is excited to represent Pennsylvania over this next year and will travel the state being a proud NAM Queen.
