Breakfast Boutique coming to Chestnut Hill

By Monica Peters

Surprise!

One of Philly’s beloved breakfast spots is opening a new location in Chestnut Hill and debuted with a soft launch on Apr. 28.

The Breakfast Boutique, which already has two locations, one at 6830 Ogontz Avenue and the other at 5917 Broad St., now opens a new store at 8630 Germantown Avenue. The official opening date is May 1 2018.

Owners Robert and Desiree Pollard opened the first Breakfast Boutique back in 2014.

Now with three locations, consider the Breakfast Boutique to be a holy trifecta for food lovers.

Both are proud cooks that know their stuff.

“Everything is made from scratch,” said Desiree.

“I’ve been in the culinary business for 25 years,” said Robert.

Some of their desserts are from a local baker who also bakes from scratch.

The house was packed Saturday with food lovers who came from afar to eat the Breakfast Boutique’s down-home fare.

Robert and Jane Groben traveled from Lansdale. “I had the omelette with cheddar cheese, sausage, spinach, mushroom, onions and peppers and tomatoes. It was great!” said Robert.

Both first timers to the restaurant, Jane also fell in love instantly.

“They have the best pork bacon and the best cornbread ever. It was so moist and sweet,” said Jane.

“The sweet tea was outrageously good.”

Badia from North Philadelphia frequents the Breakfast Boutique’s location on Broad St.  However, she came out to the Chestnut Hill location to support.

“My favorite meal is the salmon cakes and grits. The shrimp and grits are another one of my favorites—and, all of the pancakes.”

Hassan, who came from Germantown, has his favorite Breakfast Boutique dish too.

“The turkey burger and fries are my favorite meal, along with the breakfast.”

The Breakfast Boutique in Chestnut Hill is located at 8630 Germantown Avenue and will be open May 1.  Hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Thursdays 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information contact 215-621-7796 or visit Instagram.com/BreakfastBoutiqueisSoUnique
