Mayor-Elect Cherelle Parker to name Kevin Bethel as next police commissoner

According to 6abc, Mayor-elect Cherelle Parker will select Kevin Bethel to be appointed as Philadelphia’s next police commissioner when she takes office.

Bethel’s background includes previously serving as Deputy Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, and serves as Chief of School Safety for The School District of Philadelphia since 2019.
