The Honorable Vincent J. Hughes Senator, 7th Senatorial District in the Pennsylvania will be the Keynote Speaker at the Fourth Saints of Valor Martial Ministry Appreciation Awards Ceremony Dinner hosted by Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church. This event is to honor Law Enforcement Officers (Police Officers, Probation Officers, Parole Officers, Correctional Officers, and Sheriff Officers) as well as outstanding citizens for their accomplishments and dedication in serving others and helping to reduce crime in our communities through their involvement in youth programs or combating domestic violence or advocating against human trafficking.
The program has a two-fold purpose: to honor those who sacrifice and give back a part of their daily lives; and to demonstrate to our youth the significance of the work being done by law enforcement officials and citizens to make our community a safer and better place in which to live.
The Fourth Appreciation Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2800 West Cheltenham Avenue (in the Family Life Center). This is a formal event. Doors will open at 5:00 P.M., dinner will be served In recognition of their good deeds, honorees whether they are active in service, retired, or deceased; will receive Awards from either the American Police Hall of Fame National Awards Program or the Saints of Valor Martial Ministry Awards Program and citation form, State Representative Cherelle L. Parker.
There will be a moment of silence, memorial tribute and display honoring the city of Philadelphia’s Police Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice led by the Philadelphia Police Honor Guard and the Philadelphia Police Explorers Color Guard.
Among those expected to attend is Deputy Commissioner Richard Ross and Deputy Commissioner Kevin Bethel on the behalf of the Commissioner, District Attorney Seth Williams and FOP Lodge 5 Vice President Roosevelt Poplar.
