On the way back uptown from a downtown meeting, I stopped by Denise’s Delicacies at 2916 N. 22nd Street in North Philadelphia. 

Denise’s has been an institution in this neighborhood. Owner Denise Gause told me that they are celebrating 25 years next month.

My family and I have bought delicious baked goods from them for much of that time. 

Today was no exception, I got two small pecan pies….Yummmm! 

They are a perfect example of a well-run business.
