Independence Day Celebration in Historic Germantown

11am to 4pm: 

Concord School House & Upper Burying Ground 

(6309 Germantown Avenue).

Ceremony and bell-ringing at 2:00pm, with remarks and performance: “Freedom Tales and Poems”

Old-fashioned 4th of July celebration with hot-dogs, make your own ice cream and flag-themed fan activity, games, and more! The program will also feature BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, a good friend of James Logan, as well as music by Run of the Mill String Band.

12pm to 4pm: 

Cliveden (6401 Germantown Ave.) 

TOUR the Main House, the site of the Battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777

EXPLORE our 1767 & 1959 kitchens with interactive activities for children and adults

VISIT our Carriage House to see our core exhibit “Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness?” and our animated map of the Battle of Germantown

1pm to 3pm: 

Johnson House (6306 Germantown Avenue) 

Tour one of the few remaining Underground Railroad sites.
