
The Jamaica Pennsylvania Association has collaborated with the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities Leagues (UNIA – ACL) in Philadelphia, to conduct the Jamaica’s “55th Heroes Day Celebration – Tribute to Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey ONH,” on Friday October 20th at Eakins Oval, 2451 Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
This tribute to the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey ONH is well- deserved, as Jamaica’s first national hero and founder of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities Leagues (UNIA – ACL).
The entire city of Philadelphia is in high anticipation of celebrating the legacy of the “Black Messiah”, which makes him the greatest stalwart leader (culturally/politically) from the Caribbean that has shared in five cultures : Jamaica, United States, Canada ,United Kingdom and Africa. His lifetime contribution is part of Jamaica’s historic legacy that is honored and shared throughout the world. It is their solemn duty to reflect his heroic contribution, in its fullest capacity, that will educate and sustain Jamaica’s historic legacy.
The celebration festivities will run from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and will feature fireworks and 21- gun salute.
