The New York-based, pre-packaged meal supplier provided lunch, snacks to more than 600 athletes, volunteers, coaches and attendees
Maramont Corporation, a Brooklyn, New York based supplier of prepackaged meals, with facilities in Moosic, Pennsylvania, and in Philadelphia, prepared and donated lunches, snacks and refreshments to more than 600 athletes, volunteers, coaches and attendees of the 2015 Philadelphia Spring Games, hosted by Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA).
The 35th Annual Spring Games were held at the William Penn Charter School, in the Northwest section of Philadelphia. Local law enforcement officers also participated in The Spring Games, by running the Flame of Hope from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to Penn Charter, for the Opening Ceremony. This year, more than 250 Special Olympic Pennsylvania athletes, 300 volunteers and 50 coaches, from Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, participated in sporting events such as track and field, basketball and advanced aquatics.
Joseph Bistritzky, CEO, Maramont, said, “We were delighted to provide refreshments for Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Spring Games, this year. Maramont Corporation is a longtime supporter of student initiatives, and of the Special Olympics, itself. So naturally, we felt it our duty to provide nutritious foods and snacks to an organization whose impact is felt by many students and families, here.”
The Spring Games also featured a family-friendly Olympic Town, which provided entertainment and activities for volunteers and athletes. Additional event sponsors included: Comcast Sports Network, McMenamin Family ShopRite, TD Bank, TriState Media Productions and The YMCA.
