Office of the Sheriff partners with DEA for National Take Back Day

October 26, 2018 Category: Local Posted by:

Once again the Office of Sheriff Jewell Williams is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration on its annual National Take Back Day.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, our deputies will be at two locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to assist in the collection of unwanted prescription or over the counter medication.

“When you have drugs in the house, you never know if kids, or other visitors may get a hold of your medicine that they shouldn’t be taking,” Sheriff Williams said. “It’s dangerous, especially if they have a drug addiction. If it’s expired, or you don’t need it, give it up,” Sheriff Williams said.

Sheriff’s deputies will be at the office of State Rep. Angel Cruz at 3503 N. B Street, as well as the 18th Street Apothecary at 113 S. 18th Street.  Go to https://takebackday.dea.gov/ for more information.
