Last Monday evening, the School District of Philadelphia celebrated the annual All Philadelphia High School Music Festival. 7:30 PM in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall.
Over 400 students hailing from numerous high schools throughout the city participated, with NBC 10 News Co-Anchor Renee Chenault-Fattah serving as Mistress of Ceremonies.
The concert featured the All City Choir, Band, and Orchestra and highlighted the winner of the 2012 All City Concerto Competition, Sean Bennett, performing Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons. Also featured was the premiere of the All City Trumpet Ensemble and a stirring grand finale: selections from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.
