Six young men from The School District of Philadelphia’s George Washington High School recently participated! in prestigious, nationally recognized events in San Antonio, Texas aimed at showcasing the talents of America’s most outstanding high school football players.
Sharrif Floyd, the number one-ranked defensive back in the country, was a starter In the US Army All-American Game, and at halftirne announced his college choice. This highly recruited student-athlete will be attending the University of Florida.
Five other student-athletes from Washington High School participated in the US Army All-American Combine, which consists of drills intended to spotlight their talents when pitted against other nationally recognized players. They are: defensive back English Peay, defensive end Brandon Chudnoff, defensive back Ty Jefferson and wide receiver Joe Claybome, all 11th graders; and receiver Mate Smith, a 10th-grader.
Congratulations to all of these talented students, their teachers and their coaches.
