The YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity and the 2011 National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies will host the 2012 Strong Kids Campaign Kick-Off Event on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Citizens Bank Park.

More than 300 Y families, members, donors and volunteers will be in attendance to kick-off the celebrations.

With a goal of $3.5 million, the Strong Kids Campaign is the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity’s annual effort to raise funds to provide financial assistance to one in four people that the Y serves. Every year, the donations raised through the annual support campaign helps ensure more youth, adults and families can participate in our Y programs and services regardless of an inability to pay.

With your help this year, we can provide more opportunities for youth to attend Summer Day Camp programs, families to enjoy our facilities and for active older adults to forge new friendships.

Hosted by the 2011 National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies, the Kick-Off event will feature Ballpark fare and fun activities. At this year’s event, several special guests will be in attendance to show their support including the 2012 Strong Kids Campaign Chair Chris Cashman, Executive Vice President, Commercial Markets for Independence Blue Cross, as well as the 2012 Strong Kids Campaign Vice-Chair, Deborah Sutton and our 2012 Honorary Strong Kids Campaign Chair, Ruben Amaro, Jr., Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Philadelphia Phillies.
