Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem to launch new event center in May 2012

Bethlehem, PA– The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, a Bethlehem, PA, casino and entertainment destination, today announced the start of construction of an Event Center to open in May 2012. The plans currently include 50,000 square feet of flexible multi-purpose space, allowing the resort to accommodate meetings, conventions and a variety of entertainment events. The Sands Bethlehem Event Center is a partnership between Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and Vision Entertainment Group.

 

“We are so pleased to continue expanding our resort during this milestone year and provide new entertainment options for the region,” said Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem President Robert DeSalvio. “We are partnering with Vision Entertainment Group to ensure that the Sands Bethlehem Event Center will provide everything that our guests are seeking when visiting our property. In May of this year we launched the Sands Hotel and Emeril’s Italian Table and will be previewing The Shoppes at Sands, our luxury outlet mall, in November. The Event Center will continue to position the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem as a premiere destination for leisure and business travelers.”

 

The Event Center is the latest addition to the resort, which recently launched the 300-room Sands Hotel, more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space and a new Emeril Lagasse restaurant, Emeril’s Italian Table, in May of this year. The Sands Bethlehem development also consists of plans for 200,000 square feet of luxury outlet shopping for popular retailers and designers, the Shoppes at Sands. Approximately 8 stores will launch for a soft opening on November 1, with a number of additional stores due to open in February 2012 for a grand opening.

 

Sands Bethlehem Event Center, to be completed by May 2012 will be constructed by local contractors Serfass Construction and Alvin H. Butz. The event center was designed by Allentown based Howard Kulp Architects and will offer an event capacity of over 3000 people and a banquet capacity of over 1000 people. Vision Entertainment in conjunction with Live Nation will work to bring some of the biggest names in entertainment to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center.

One of our primary focuses was to ensure the quality of the performances, events and experience of the Sands Bethlehem Event Center will contribute to the overall goals and successful development occurring within the City of Bethlehem and Mid-Atlantic region” said Jeff Trainer, Co-Founder of Vision Entertainment Group.

 

The event center will add 100 full and part time jobs to the Sands Casino Resort Development project.

 

Situated on the former site of the historic Bethlehem Steel plant and located within close proximity from Philadelphia and New York City, the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem originally debuted in May 2009. The Sands Casino property offers over 3,000 state-of-the-art slot machines, as well as 129 live table games, and a variety of premier entertainment and dining options. These include Emeril’s Chop House, Burgers And More by Emeril, Emeril’s Italian Table, Carnegie Deli, St. James Gate Irish Pub and Carvery, The Market – Gourmet Express, Cobalt Buffet & Café and intimate bar/lounges, Coil, Molten and Infusion.
