As we are all looking forward to the new year, it is my hope that you are expecting great things to happen in your life in 2022.

There was a time when I was going through a difficult work situation at a particular school; I decided that if this situation was not corrected, then I could no longer remain employed there.

Then one evening or one morning — I cannot remember exactly which one —  I came across a spiritual teacher by the name of Joyce Meyer. As a result of my encounter with her (it may have been a day or two), the trajectory of my life changed.

To this day, I still watch Joyce Meyer almost daily as I am getting prepared to walk out the door in the mornings. And the one thing that she says often, and has never left me is, “to enjoy your everyday life.”

Now it has taken me some time to get to the point, but folks, 2022 is going to be like a year unlike any other. It is my hope and prayer that you are looking forward to it.

You know, it is not really about having all the money in the world, the best job or children that are always listening to what you say and have straight ‘A’s’ in school.  It is about enjoying each day, one day at a time.

2022 is going to offer so much to so many individuals, I hope that you are first, if not second, in line.  Living your life like tomorrow will not come today can be the best prescription that you could follow. I have learned to celebrate my small achievements, whatever they may look like for me.  Whatever those small accomplishments are — whether sharing love with a loved one or a friend, or maybe someone that I am not really sure who they are —  it is the conversation, the smile, and the joy of just being excited about what good things could happen in your life. 2022 can be the start of that for you.

If you want to go back to school, and have been talking about it, register for summer or fall classes. If you really want to be bold, register for courses in January!

You may want to move out of your home or your apartment and a change in your life — do it!

You may have met the love of your dreams after a long search, and didn’t realize that they were right in front of you the entire time.  Tell that person —  better yet, get married. Enjoy your lives!

That job that you have been wanting to quit, for one that is more fulfilling —  go get it!

In the new year, we might still have to social distance and wear masks, but we do not have to be confined within the walls of our homes just sitting around doing absolutely nothing, unless that is our choice.  Otherwise, take a chance and make a change in your life.  Do whatever it is that you have wanted to do and have been talking about.

It’s true that you only have one life, and that 2022 is only one year. However, do not allow your talent to continue to be wasted due to self-doubt.  Your Almighty Father said, “Through me all things are possible.”

Alright — I challenge you in 2022 to do one thing different for yourself. After you see how good it feels, do four more. That is not even one thing a month — you can spread it out through the year.  The change you make does not have to be fancy, can be simple, and does not have to be costly. There is so much that you can do that is free of charge.

So let’s make those changes so that your 2022 can be all that, just for you.  Until next time….PEACE!
