PANDEMIC
People living in uncertainty
After the storm, the sun shines
Never give in and never give up
Determine who you are, hold onto it
Express your emotions
Mindfulness is a magnificent resource in relaxation
In all things, trust and believe
Courageous is YOU!
Stories have been told based on the experiences that one has had and where one has traveled. Today, many of us are traveling down the same or similar pathways in our daily movements.
Today’s pandemic is causing folk to “shut down” in a manner that most of us have never really felt before. In this shut down of what is done on a regular basis, on a typical day, we have had to modify and/or change completely. Just take a moment to look at how the construction companies have been building residences all around the city and the outskirts for folk to live. Where does the wildlife move to? What adaptation do the animals have to make? Is anyone concerned about their “pandemic?” So as we have been forced to “shut down” together, try to be mindful of a few things that might help or can be added to what you are already doing . Take a moment to breathe. If you are feeling overwhelmed and anxious, it is okay to say “no” as you, too, are adjusting to change.
Do something constructive that you have been putting off for a while that you haven’t had “free” time to do.
Get up, get out, and exercise. Do you enjoy running, skateboarding, walking, cycling, jogging, blade skating, or speed walking, with or without the stroller or your dog? What a great time to get it in and experience the wonderful after effects of a physically fit body.
You can experience quality time in the real sense that you can spend it with loved ones and those at a distance by way of a phone call; it is a phenomenal opportunity to build bonds and strengthen relationships. Feel good in ‘relax’ mode. Allow your mind to free your soul, so that your mental thoughts and actions follow the “relax” mode that you now possess, guilt free.
Accept, adjust, and cope in the timeframe that works well for you, not that of others and the pandemic. As we are curious, anxious, unsure, and in the know, this is where we are together. Be mindful of your neighbor; look out for the elderly, and continue to do your family and YOU!
