THE SOUL TRAIN AWARDS – Premieres Sunday, December 1st at 8:00 P.M.* ET/PT on Centric.

The Soul Train Awards returns with a stellar two hour show that bridges the gap between the soulful sounds of yesterday and today; acting as a hybrid of a traditional show with an “honors” show format. Showcasing the evolution of Soul Train’s impact on musical history from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today, the new Soul Train Awards is all about the melodic marriage of music and dance.

Our host and performers will take the stage as they welcome the viewers to a show that feels more like a dance party than your traditional awards show. Paying homage to the musical elite, the  Soul Train Awards will honor three Icons that have a timeless songbook, established a musical and performance standard, have impacted the industry in a significant way, and are still a relevant influence on the music scene today.

Vintage Soul Train clips would be used in packages in and out of segments and would include a medley of classic performances. In addition to the three Icon performances, the show will feature five other performances by some of the hottest acts in music today.
