The Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® will host a free community wellness fair at the John F. Street Community Center, 1100 Poplar Street in North Philadelphia, from 10:00AM – 3:00PM, rain or shine, with a 9:30AM Kick -Off community walk.
The theme for the 2017 Community Wellness Fair is “Healthier Living for You! Mind, Body, and Soul”, and this much anticipated community outreach will provide resources for healthy living, free health screenings, food , games and fun for all who attend. The health fair will start with a 9:30am Kick- Off community walk.
The international program of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® includes five targets, one of which is Target II, Health Promotion. The sorority places emphasis on promoting health awareness in three critical areas: Alzheimers Disease, Stroke and Heart Disease, and Mental Health. The Omega Omega Chapter therefore endeavors to provide ongoing programs and services to the community which promote and bring attention to these major challenges faced by African- Americans.
