City Council schedules additional redistricting hearings

City Council announced details for two more public hearings to be held for the purpose of receiving public testimony concerning Councilmanic redistricting. These will be held outside of Center City Philadelphia and are in addition to a hearing scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in Council chambers. Room 400, City Hall.

 

Public testimony from all Philadelphians is welcome, regardless of where they live. Details are as follows:

 

• Wednesday, August 31, 2011 – 5:00 p.m.

Esperanza Academy Charter High School

301 West Hunting Park Avenue (3rd & Hunting Park)

Sponsored by: Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez (215-686-3448)

 

• Tuesday, September 6, 2011 – 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Einstein Medical Center (Gouley Auditorium)

5501 Old York Road (near Broad & Olney transit center)

Sponsored by: Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller (215-686-3424) and

Councilwoman Marian Tasco (215-686-3455)

 

Persons wishing to testify in person at any of the hearings are asked to call the above numbers, or 215-686-3407, and leave a message with their name and telephone number indicating which hearing they will attend. Written testimony may also be submitted at any time, and will be distributed to each Council member and made a part of the official record. Written testimony should be e-mailed to [email protected], or delivered to the Office of the Chief Clerk of Council in Room 402 City Hall.
