
June 19th, known as “Juneteenth” is the celebration of “True Freedom Day” for African-Americans.
On June 16, 2018, the Johnson House at 6306 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144, a designated National Historic Landmark as a stop on “The Underground Railroad,” has sponsored a festival and parade for the past 11 years.
In this its 12th year, the festival will take place on Germantown Avenue between Johnson Street and Washington Lane from 12pm to 8pm.
Executive Director Cornelia Swinson, is very excited about their continuing mission to educate the public through this year’s celebration.
