The African American Museum in Philadelphia and Citizens Bank invite you to enjoy a full weekend of enriching, fun, inspirational, family-friendly activities in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr!
AAMP’s 2018 MLK Weekend kicks off on Friday, January 12th with Passion, Progress & Pulchritude, an evening of MLK-inspired poetry and music. Then, the weekend continues from Saturday to Monday with three full days of interactive and enlightening arts activities, performances and workshops, including a Saturday film screening and discussion, the Citizens Bank Scavenger Hunt and Book Giveaway, and a Monday keynote address by Dr. Howard Stevenson, a University of Pennsylvania Professor of Africana Studies, and Executive Director of the Racial Empowerment Collaborative. Guests can also explore our core exhibition, Audacious Freedom: African Americans in Philadelphia, 1776-1876, and the temporary exhibition, Gardens of the Mind.
Thanks to the generosity of Citizens Bank, the museum’s admission will be reduced to $2 for all guests during the MLK Weekend Celebration festivities.

Dan Fitzpatrick, President, Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware; Patricia Wilson Aden, President and CEO, African American Museum in Philadelphia; and Michael B. Hill, Chair, Board of Directors, African American Museum in Philadelphia.
