ABOVE PHOTO: Sheriff Jewell Williams and Deputy Sheriff Officer Ana Sostre attend a community event. Other staff will be at as many neighborhood and community events as possible this summer to share information on the sheriff’s office.
July is a busy month at the sheriff’s office and also for many Philadelphians.
The city is hosting not only the Democratic National Convention July 25-28, but the African Methodist Episcopal Church 50th Quadrennial Session is here July 6-13, as well as the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association Conference July 20-23 at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District Hotel.
As Philadelphia hosts hundreds of thousands of visitors this summer, and countless community and neighborhood events, my office will be as visible as possible sharing information on workshops, seminars, and sheriff sale dates. You can even catch us on the radio on “The Roundup”, which airs the first Saturday of every month at 1 PM on WURD- AM.
There will also be Sheriff Sales on July 19th (tax collection), July 20th (tax revenue), and July 21st (tax collection) at the First District Plaza at 3801 Market Street starting at 8:30 AM (These sales are free and open to the public).
We’ve also added an extra How To Purchase Property at a Sheriff’s Sale Seminar on Friday, July 8th at 1 PM (English only) and on July 12th at 11 AM (Spanish only) and an English only class at 1 PM the same day. All classes are held on the 10th Floor of 1406 Chestnut Street and are free and open to the public but you must register online at www.phillysheriff.com.
So, enjoy this warm weather, and the events that come with it, and I encourage you to also make this a Summer of Peace through understanding, patience, and respect to all you encounter.
