SRC Commissioner, Lorene Cary will be on temporary medical leave from the School Reform Commission effective on September 24, 2012.

In a letter to the Mayor and the SRC chair, Carey said that a lingering illness is severely curtailing her ability to work on the Commission and, heeding her doctor’s orders, she is resting and recovering “so as not to turn temporary illness into chronic incapacity.”

Dr. Lori Shorr, Mayor Nutter’s Chief Education Officer, said, “We appreciate the service Commissioner Cary has provided to the School Reform Commission thus far and wish her a speedy and full recovery.”
