The National Association of Police Athletic/Activities Leagues names Officer Noell Grant as Law Enforcement Officer of the Month and Isaam Brown as Youth of the Month for October.

Charlotte, NC – The National Association of Police Athletic/Activities Leagues (National PAL) is pleased to announce the October recipients of its Law Enforcement Officer of the Month and Youth of the Month awards. Through this series of monthly awards, National PAL recognizes individuals in the PAL network who inspire their colleagues and who are steadfast in their service to the youth in their communities.

The Law Enforcement Officer of the Month for October is Officer Noell Grant of Santa Monica, California, who has served with the Santa Monica Police Department for more than 11 years. Previously, she was a Corporal for the Maryland-National Capital Park Police for six years. Grant was nominated by her colleagues at the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) for her dedication to creating positive, healthy experiences for the youth in her community. In addition to her duties as a police officer, Grant has coached a girls’ basketball team, taught D.A.R.E. and cooking classes, organized sports competitions, and raised money for other PAL programs. She also advises 15 young Explorers and counsels families experiencing hardship.

The Youth of the Month for October is Isaam Brown of Atlantic City, New Jersey. A natural leader and positive role model, 17-year-old Brown has been involved with the Atlantic City PAL for more than 11 years. During his time with PAL, Brown has taken on leadership responsibilities, such as serving as a summer camp counselor and as a member of the National PAL Mentor group. He also leads and coordinates the Atlantic City PAL mentor group for 8-12-year-old boys. Brown’s enthusiastic attitude and leadership skills distinguish him as a positive influence on his peers and youth in his community.

“We at National PAL are proud to have individuals like Officer Noell Grant and Isaam Brown participating in their local PAL chapters,” said Jeff Hood, Executive Director of National PAL. “They are positive role models and true ambassadors of PAL’s values in their communities.”

National PAL is now accepting nominations for November’s awards: Law Enforcement Officer of the Month, Volunteer of the Month, Youth of the Month, or Alumni of the Month. For more information on these awards or National PAL, please visit www.nationalpal.org.
