iHeartMedia Philadelphia’s 105.3 WDAS FM announces this year’s recipients of the eighth annual ‘Women of Excellence Luncheon Presented by Xfinity’

iHeartMedia Philadelphia’s 105.3 WDAS FM, Philly’s best R&B and throwbacks station, has announced this year’s award recipients for the eighth annual “Women of Excellence Luncheon Presented by Xfinity,” a celebration of local women and their achievements in the community, including Grammy award-winner Jody Watley. The luncheon will take place on April 13 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown.

During the event, Grammy award-winning multi-platinum, singer, songwriter, producer and fashionista Jody Watley will be presented with the WDAS Women of Excellence Legend Award. The luncheon will also honor Alex Holley, co-host of Fox 29’s “Good Day Philadelphia;” Paralee Knight, vice president of the philanthropy and community impact group for Wells Fargo NJ, PA, and DE; Katherine Gilmore Richardson, Philadelphia City Councilmember; Kathy Sledge, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, author, and Dyana Williams, CEO of Influence Entertainment, and legendary on-air radio personality.

The event will be hosted by 105.3 WDAS FM’s on-air personalities Patty Jackson, Frankie Darcell, Mimi Brown and Loraine Ballard Morrill. Show performers will be announced at a later date.

“It’s an honor to be able to consistently recognize some of the most incredible women throughout the Tri-State, and this year we are very excited to assemble this room of honorees who have contributed to our city and our culture in so many ways,” said Derrick Corbett, senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Philadelphia. “It’s what makes this event one of the most special in the nation.”

In addition, 105.3 WDAS FM will honor four remarkable women nominated by 105.3 WDAS FM listeners over the past month, one of which will receive the “Mary J. Blige Award for Perseverance and Courage.”

The eighth annual WDAS Women of Excellence Luncheon is presented by Xfinity. Additional sponsors include Rand Spear, The Accident Lawyer, Angels are Us Home Health Agency and TMI Business Solutions.

The WDAS Women of Excellence Luncheon has been recognizing women in the Philadelphia community since 2015. Previous honorees include Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle, Susan Taylor, Queen Latifah, Eve, Sheryl Lee Ralph and MC Lyte. Tickets can be purchased at: www.wdasfm.com. All tickets include lunch.
